Christina Jundt, WC ’13

Christina Jundt, WC ’13, started a theatre company called Wild Air Playhouse that performs at the Lake Lanier Olympic Venue in Gainesville, Georgia. Their featured show, Half Mile Down, follows one community’s struggle after learning Round Valley Electric wishes to flood their beloved town to create a lake. As the town bands together to try to save their homes, unlikely forces collide to underscore a classic Southern story of family, hope and love. An uplifting theater experience for the whole family, Half Mile Down focuses on the power that we create when we stand together to protect and be good to one another. In its theatrical world premiere in 2014, the show played to 1,000 patrons at the Lake Lanier Olympic Venue in just three nights. Another large part of the company is the youth summer camp, run by Peyton Owen, WC ’14. The mission of the Wild Air Camp is to teach life skills, and foster community through training in the performing arts and outdoor studies. Scholarships are available to youths in financial need.
