Parker, a 2005 Women’s College mass communications graduate, emphasized advertising and public relations in her Brenau studies and was the advertising sales manager for The Alchemist as well as its managing editor. She started her professional career in advertising sales at The Times of Gainesville. Since 2006 she has been employed with Southern Community Newspapers, Inc., as a multimedia sales selling and managing print, digital and direct mail campaigns primarily for Gwinnett Daily Post, the second largest Sunday newspaper in Georgia.  The Suwanee, Ga., resident also serves as communication chairwoman for Suwanee Performing Arts, a nonprofit community arts organization.
