Seymour, who majored in public relations, is a 1987 Women’s College graduate and a member of Zeta Tau Alpha. She currently handles public relations activities for the Gainesville prep school that was founded in 1906 by Brenau patriarchs H.J. Pearce and Azor Van Hoose. Along with Seymour’s duties of writing news releases, developing advertising, and serving as liaison with the community, she distributes weekly athletic scores to more than 20 media outlets, and she recently began editing and producing Reveille, the institution’s bi-annual publication.

The Denmark native spent her freshman year at Brenau (1990-91) as an English and business administration major before returning home to study English and international studies at Aalborg University. She works as communications coordinator for Malmö, Sweden-based AAK (AarhusKarlshamn AB), the world’s leading manufacturer of high value-added specialty vegetable fats – products butterfat and cocoa butter substitutes, among other things. Her duties include updating the Intranet and the company’s Website, conducting surveys, writing press releases and acting as a liaison with the local community – and in the chocolate industry. “If you eat a Kit Kat, think of me,” she says.

The 1991 Women’s College graduate who majored in journalism and public relations works as an assistant city editor at the Ocala Star-Banner in central Florida, part of the Halifax Media Group. Smiley-Height had previously edited the paper’s magazine, Life in the Heart of Florida. She also was editor of four weekly and eight bi-weekly newspapers owned by Florida Today, a Gannett publication on Florida’s east coast, as well as the Space Coast Press.
