John Means
Affiliate Faculty, Brenau University
Kings Bay, Ga.
Since he graduated from law school in the ’80s Means wanted to teach what was then called “Business Law” to college-level students, but never got the chance because he was busy, well, practicing it – including time he spent at one of the most innovative and legally interesting entities in the communications field. Means worked for a decade in the legal department of CNN parent Turner Broadcasting in Atlanta, then – as part of the well-publicized series of mergers and corporate divorces involving Time-Warner, AOL, etc., that led ultimately to the sacking for founder Ted Turner – Means did several short temporary stints with Warner Bros. from 2006 through 2008. In 2007, my wife and I moved from the Atlanta area to St. Marys, Georgia. We live about 15 minutes from the Kings Bay Submarine Base. He has been teaching at the Kings Bay campus since 2009.
