Engage with your alma mater

Fall is such a wonderful time, with the start of a new school year, changing leaves, cooler days and fun traditions. Just recently, I watched as the returning students moved back into sorority houses and dorm rooms and the rookies arrived to leave their parents for the first time. To see the excitement for a new year on each of their faces is truly amazing.

I find myself reflecting on what it must have been like for that first group of women who arrived on campus in 1878, compelled by the founding vision of President Dr. W.C. Wilkes. That vision has propelled Brenau University into what it is today: a nationally recognized institution comprised of a Women’s College and a coeducational university with undergraduate and graduate programs on four campuses in Georgia, one in Jacksonville, Florida and online.

This academic year, 2017-18, we will celebrate 140 years of our Women’s College and the traditions that make Brenau a special place for so many. This year, there are many ways you can engage with your alma mater:

  • Join us for Homecoming, Sept. 29-30, 2017. Come enjoy great food and fellowship with fellow alumni.
  • Give to one of the many great Brenau initiatives that align with your passion: women’s leadership, health sciences, student services or the annual fund.
  • Be on the lookout for more information about when we will be on the road this year Bringing Brenau to You!
  • Help us celebrate the 90th anniversary of Brenau Academy. Mark your calendars and save the date of April 14, 2018.
  • Join the celebration marking 140 years of the Women’s College at Alumnae Reunion Weekend & May Day, April 13-14, 2018.

Join in on the fun and find a way to engage with us this year! You can connect with us on social media, or feel free to contact me directly. I look forward to seeing each of you.
