Brian Voye, EWC ’93

Brian Voye, EWC ’93, served a total of 22 years in the U.S. Navy. He entered Jan. 22, 1985, and served about nine years before transferring to the Navy Reserve in 1995. He stayed in the reserve for the remainder of his time, except for two activations. His first activation was right after 9/11, and he served about 10 months doing security at Kings Bay, Ga., at the sub base, where he picked up E-6 (First Class Petty Officer). His second activation was five years ago, and he spent eight months in Kuwait doing port security in his new rate as a master-at-arms (MA1). He returned from his Kuwait deployment and decided to transfer to the retired reserve. Currently he works for a biotech firm in Sarasota, Fla., where he has been the lead blending technician for eight years.
