Danita Emma, WC ’01, has been named a Fulbright specialist in dance. The Fulbright Specialist Program promotes linkages between U.S. scholars and professionals, and their counterparts at host institutions overseas. The program awards grants to qualified U.S. faculty and professionals in select disciplines to engage in short-term collaborative two- to six-week projects at eligible institutions in more than 140 countries worldwide. Emma has taught and coached professional and preprofessional dancers throughout the U.S. and Bulgaria. Her summer ballet program, International Ballet Intensive, held annually at Brenau University, Gainesville, recruits students and faculty from around the world.
