Award-winning designer Christie Gregory ‘retires’

Christie GregoryThis issue of Brenau Window marks the last with Christie Gregory in the masthead as associate editor/design director. The gifted, creative graphic designer will retire early to pursue full-time her own art and passion for personal growth and social responsibility. She and her husband, Bob, will remain in Gainesville, Georgia; we fully expect to see her paintings on display at Brenau and throughout the community as soon as she picks up her brushes.

During the Nashville, Tennessee, native’s nine years on staff, she enormously elevated Brenau’s visual identity to the world through design of everything from dramatic banners bedecking the sides of buildings to engaging brochures, publications and advertising. Her posters and other materials for Brenau events were gallery-worthy pieces in their own right. She set the tone and standard for professionalism the moment she began her Brenau tenure. Her first issue of this magazine, Summer 2007, won a North American award from the prestigious University and College Designers Association. The hallway outside her office is lined with many other awards from UCDA and the Council for Advancement and Support of Higher Education for her work. To say that she made a difference at Brenau really understates the case. Christie Gregory’s mark is indelible.
