Marsha Hammond-White, WC ‘65

Marsha Hammond-White, WC ‘65, was honored Feb. 23 at Georgia State Day for Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity. Hammond-White received The Order of the Shield for 50 years of membership in ZTA. Her daughter, Kristy Hammond, WC ‘95, was on hand to pin her mother with the White Violet pin, which represents the mother’s years of membership. This was a sentimental time since Marsha pinned Kristy’s ZTA badge on her 21 years ago. Both women are members of the Omicron Chapter of ZTA at Brenau. Marsha also received The Order of the Shield certificate and a white violet flower. Kerry Webb, district president, VII Alpha of Zeta Tau Alpha, introduced Marsha at the White Violet ceremony. “This is one busy lady,” Kerry said as she read Hammond-White’s education credentials and her long list of activities both in ZTA and elsewhere. “Her list of achievements is amazing.” After the ceremony Marsha was surprised by alumnae of ZTA when they presented her with a White Violet painting signed by each member of the group.
