Brenau Scholars 2013

The Brenau Scholar Pattern

As part of a gemstone program of institutional aid, paid from annual giving to the university, four 2013 Brenau University Women’s College freshmen recently joined the ranks of a select group of students who excel – not only academically but also as contributing members of their communities. The full scholarship, valued at about $22,000 per year, is renewable each year – provided the Brenau Scholar student maintains a 3.3 grade point average and keeps her commitment for service to the university and to community activities outside the university. The program recruits top high school students who could excel in virtually any university environment, says Scott Briell, senior vice president. “We just want them to do it at Brenau.”

This year’s Brenau Scholar program participants – Emily Bruce, Emily Burgess, Sarah Dove and Rebeca Arevalo – show outward manifestations of motivation to follow passion and energy in the classroom and in the world.
