Mandy Sheppard Volpe, WC ’09, in August became executive director of Interactive Neighborhood for Kids, Inc. Sheri Hooper, founder of the Gainesville, Georgia, “children’s museum,” created the first salaried executive director position to accommodate the growth of field trips, birthday parties, daily visitors and the oversight of the organization’s capital campaign. INK is currently located adjacent to the Brenau East campus at Featherbone Communiversity – home of the schools of nursing and occupational therapy. However, it is planning to move to a site on Friendship Road. Volpe, who first worked at INK 10 years ago with volunteer programs and birthday parties, has a bachelor’s in marketing and a master’s in project management from Brenau.
