Winter 2018: Investing in Tomorrow’s Health Care Professionals
‘Multiversity’ on a mission
Provost James Eck says Brenau is the perfect example of a “multiversity” – poised to meet the needs of current and future students and prepare graduates for leadership roles in their “generation of creativity.”
From horse to water
Occupational therapist Nicole Walker, BU ’01, offers a unique approach for her clients through a combination of equine, aquatic and traditional therapies at a growing business that employs four other Brenau OT graduates.
Using their brains
Two Brenau professors are providing undergraduates in the Women’s College with hands-on experience in a stem cell research project that involves the study of rat brains with the aim of neurological rehabilitation.
A life-changing legacy
A $3.5 million gift from the Melvin Douglas and Victoria Kay Ivester Foundation will transform health sciences education at Brenau, positioning it at the “forefront of reducing human suffering here and across the globe.”
The Class of 2021 Brenau Scholars
These 10 young women who epitomize the Brenau Ideal are finding “joy in doing rather than in dreaming” as they pursue their goals and excel in academics, community service and extracurricular activities.
